An ongoing project, the Presque Isle Air Museum at the Northern Maine Regional Airport preserves and honors the role that the airport played during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and as the first intercontinental missile base equipped with a SNARK missile. The museum is dedicated to the people of the armed forces that served at the Presque Isle Air Base. It is located in the terminal building.

Located at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, the Northern Maine Museum of Science features exhibits, educational programs, nature trails and scientific collections that aim to promote science education to the general public. Displays on the evolution of birds, sea turtles, fluorescent minerals, crystals and many other science-related topics are found at this museum.

The James School

This one-room school house was built in 1917. Utilized by classes up to grade eight, the school closed in 1948. It was then used as a church for the next 10 years, after which it was abandoned. Restored in 1987, the James School now features many of the original school desks, books and the original school bell. Located 5 mi south of Presque Isle, it is open to the public from 1pm to 2.30pm on Sundays during July and August, and by appointment at other times.
