Fort Kent State Historic Site
Located at the point where the St. John and Fish Rivers meet, the Fort Kent blockhouse was constructed in 1839 as part of a fortification during the Aroostook Border War. The bloodless conflict was a border dispute between the US and Great Britain. The building is currently used as a museum.

The Ambajejus Boom House
Located on Ambajejus Lake about 11 mi (18 km) northwest of Millinocket this Ambajejus Boom House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors to the site can learn about the old days of paper-making.
